He will be laid to rest at St. Paul Cemetery with Rev. Lloyd Trisler and Rev. Jr. Trisler officiating the services.
Pallbearers will be Mitchell Hulin, Martin Hulin, Trevor Georgia, Jacob Vincent, Jace Vincent, Cade Guidry, Timmy McCartney and Brandon Book. Honorary pallbearers will be Mason Georgia, Matthew Georgia and Devan Georgia.
He is survived by his wife Peggy Guidry Georgia of Abbeville; two sons, Kevin Lane Georgia and his wife, Julie Harrington of Maurice and Jody Wayne Georgia and his wife, Trisha Stelly of Abbeville;one daughter, Tammy Georgia Vincent and her husband, Patrick of Maurice; grandchildren, Jacob Vincent and his wife, Danielle Robin, Jace Vincent, Mitchell Hulin, Martin Hulin, Trevor Georgia, Mason Georgia, Matthew Georgia and Devan Georgia; godchild, Amanda Guidry; brothers, Jess McCartney and his wife, Dena of Monterey, LA, Less McCartney and his wife, Pam of Jonesville, LA, Jamie McCartney and his wife, Cathy of Zachary, LA, Billy McCartney and his wife, Stephanie of Kileen, TX; one sister, Betty Book and her husband, Bud of Larto, LA; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, James McCartney; mother, Eva White McCartney; mother-in-law, Maggie Guidry; and father-in-law, Murphy Guidry.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Abbeville, 209 S. St. Charles Street, on Thursday, January 22, 2009 from 3:00 p.m. and will remain open until time of services on Friday, January 23, 2009.
