Carl Sonnier

September 28, 1940 — January 25, 2009

Gueydan—Funeral services will be held Wednesday, January 28, 2009 at a 1 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Peter the Apostle Roman Catholic Church honoring the life of Carl Sonnier, 68, who died Sunday, January 25, 2009 at Lafayette General Medical Center. He will be laid to rest at Gueydan Cemetery with Reverend Mitchell Guidry officiating the services.

He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Hilda Hebert Sonnier of Gueydan; two sons, Anthony Carl Sonnier and his wife Mary of Gueydan, Michael Wayne Sonnier and his wife Cindy of Kaplan; one daughter, Angela Marie and her husband Charles Breaux Sr. of Gueydan; his father, Numa Martin Sonnier of Gueydan; one brother, Ronnie Paul Sonnier and his wife Margaret of Carencro; eleven grandchildren, T-Boug Sonnier and his girlfriend Torie, Joseph Breaux and his wife Tiffany, Amanda Breaux, Charles Breaux Jr. and his fiancee' Mandy, Scott Sonnier, Jessica and her husband J.R. Mouton, Kinsey Istre, Trevor Istre, Sara Petry, Nicolette Ware, and Damian Petry; ten great grandchildren, Noah Breaux, Logan Breaux, Balyn Breaux, Landyn Breaux, Jase Cormier, Taylor Cormier, Sidney Cormier, Zoe' Sonnier, Raegan Mouton and Brad Christ.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Bernice Istre Sonnier.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Gueydan, 311 Fourth Street, on Tuesday, January 27, 2009 from 10 a.m. until services with a rosary being prayed at 7 p.m. Tuesday evening.
