Carrol Jones Pontiff

Abbeville—Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 7, 2009 at a 10:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Therese of the Child Jesus Church honoring the life of Carrol Jones Pontiff, 67, who died Wednesday, February 4, 2009 in Abbeville.

He will be laid to rest at St. Paul Cemetery with Reverend Kenneth Mayne officiating the services.

He is survived by one daughter, Annette Stanley and her husband, Timothy of Broussard; three sons, Brian Pontiff and his wife, Marilyn of Youngsville, Carl Pontiff of Abbeville and Danny Pontiff and his wife, Tiffany of Broussard; one sister, Lillian Romero of Abbeville; seven grandchildren; and four great grandchildren

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred Pontiff; parents, Oneida Pontiff and the former Elita Vice; four brothers, Dudless Pontiff, Lurby Pontiff, Lennis Pontiff and Melvin Pontiff; and one sister, Mildred Pontiff.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Abbeville, 209 S. St. Charles Street, on Friday, February 6, 2009 from 10:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. with a rosary to be prayed at 7:00 p.m.; Saturday, February 7, 2009 from 8:00 a.m. until 9:45 a.m. when the procession will depart for the church.
