Abbeville—Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 23, 2015 at a 1:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church honoring the life of Louella Touchet Cormier, 84, who died Monday, July 20, 2015 at Maison du Monde Living Center.
She will be laid to rest at St. Mary Magdalen Cemetery with Reverend Louis Richard officiating the services. Pallbearers will be Blake Cormier, Ryan Cormier, Brett Cormier, Willis Trahan, Jay Comeaux and Byron Trahan.
Louella was a very loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Her greatest enjoyment in life was spending time with her family and friends. She will be remembered by her wonderful sense of humor.
She is survived by her husband, John Exie Cormier; one daughter, Connie C. Trahan and her husband, Willis; two sons, Ricky Cormier and his wife, Becky, and Danny Cormier and his wife, Shari; six grandchildren, Angela, Blake, Kelly, Ryan, Amber, and Brett Cormier; seven great grandchildren, Cindyn and Brylie Navarre, Tucker Jude Collins, Nevaeh and Alayni Lee, Jacques and Beau Cormier; and three sisters, Alice Comeaux, Jeanne Olivier and Ella Mae Delahoussaye.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Cledus Touchet and the former Alice Simon; four brothers, Roy J. Touchet, Harry and Harris Touchet, and C.J. Touchet, Jr.; and sisters, Mrs. Dudley (Nona) Romero, Mrs. George (Adlie) Bodin, and Mrs. Curtis (Laura Belle) Loignon.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Abbeville, 209 S. St. Charles Street, on Wednesday, July 22, 2015 from 1:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. with a rosary to be prayed at 7:00 p.m.; Thursday, July 23, 2015 from 8:00 a.m. until 1:15 p.m. when the procession will depart for the church.
