Gayle Joseph Breaux Sr.

November 26, 1948 — February 5, 2009

Gueydan—Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 7, 2009 at a 2 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Peter the Apostle Roman Catholic Church honoring the life of Gayle Joseph Breaux Sr., 60, who died Thursday, February 5, 2009 at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital. He will be laid to rest at Gueydan Cemetery with Reverend Mitchell Guidry officiating the services.

He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Laura M. Breaux of Gueydan; one son, Gayle "Slugger" Breaux Jr. of Gueydan; three daughters, Monica and her husband Kenneth of Gueydan, Heather Vincent of Gueydan, and Tiffany Simon of Gueydan; two sisters, Shirley Durasso of Sulphur and Alice Chesson of Vinton; and nine grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence Breaux Sr. and the former Lydie Broussard; three brothers, Terrance Breaux Sr., Melvin Breaux, and Clarence Breaux Jr.; and three sisters, Florence Latiolais, Effie Jean Vincent and Ella Mae Frederick.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Gueydan, 311 Fourth Street, on Friday, February 6, 2009 from 3 p.m. until services, with a rosary being prayed at 7 p.m. Friday evening.
