Abbeville—Funeral services will be held Wednesday, February 11, 2009 at a 10:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church honoring the life of Marie Antoinette Piteo Crochet, 84, who died Saturday, February 7, 2009 at Kaplan Healthcare Center.
She will be laid to rest at St. Paul Cemetery with Reverend William Blanda officiating the services.
Marie was a loving wife, mother and grandmother, she enjoyed going to the casino, playing bingo, fishing, and was an avid Saints fan.
She is survived by her husband, Lennet Paul Crochet of Abbeville; two sons, Michael B. Slatten and wife JoBeth of Metairie and Phillip H. Slatten and wife Patty of LaPlace; two daughters, Pamela Hayes Frioux and husband Richard of Loreauville and Joy Crochet Trahan and husband Gene of Kaplan; two sisters, Charlotte Koslo and husband Joe of Hackettstown, N.J. and Lillian Applegate and husband Sass of Hackettstown, N.J.; 7 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Michael Piteo and Madeline Artagnan Piteo.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Abbeville, 209 S. St. Charles Street, on Tuesday, February 10, 2009 from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 p.m. with a rosary to be prayed at 7:00 p.m. and Wednesday from 8:00 a.m. until time of services.
