Verna T. Breaux

February 26, 1924 — February 20, 2009

Gueydan—Funeral services will be held Monday, February 23, 2009 at a 2 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Morse honoring the life of Verna T. Breaux, 84, who died Friday, February 20, 2009 at American Legion Hospital. She will be laid to rest at St. John the Baptist Cemetery with Reverend Donald Pousson officiating the services.

She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Leonard Breaux of Morse; five sons, Lee Breaux and his wife Laura, Leonard Marl Breaux and his wife Rose, Merlin Breaux and his fiancee' Dina, Peter Breaux and his wife Judy, all of Morse, and Lester Breaux and his wife Francis of Baytown, Texas; four daughters, Rellena Theriot of Gueydan, Glenda Oliver of Morse, Floretta Hines of Gueydan, and Pattie and her husband Adam Jones of Huntsville, Alabama; twenty-seven grandchildren; thirty-four great grandchildren; and nine great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Pierrie Trahan and the former Natalie Marie LaBauve; one daughter, Louanna Breaux; one great granddaughter, Blakeland Breaux; three sons-in-law, Melvin J. Breaux, James Oliver Sr. and Wilson Hines Sr.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Gueydan, 311 Fourth Street, on Sunday, February 22, 2009 from 9 a.m. until services on Monday, February 23. A rosary will be prayed at 7 p.m. Sunday evening.
