Gueydan—Funeral services will be held Friday, October 2, 2015 at a 11 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Peter the Apostle Roman Catholic Church honoring the life of Rene' C. Breaux, 97, who died Tuesday, September 29, 2015 at Abrom Kaplan Memorial Hospital. He will be laid to rest at Gueydan Cemetery with Reverend Corey Campeaux officiating the services.

Mr. Breaux was a World War II veteran. He was the owner of Breaux Insurance Agency and the Mayor of Gueydan.

He is survived by his niece, Renee Owen Boullion and her husband, Clinton Boullion of Rayne; one nephew, Richard Dean Owen and his wife, Margaret Hair Owen of Austin, TX; six great nieces and nephews, Jason Boullion and his wife, Hannah, Andre' Boullion and his wife, Christina, Morgan Boullion Ochsner and her husband, Alan Ochsner, Evan Boullion Reed and her husband, Chris Reed, Megan Owen, and Bronwyn Owen Merritt and her husband, Ed Merritt; seven great-great nieces and nephews, Owen Boullion, E'lise Boullion, Eliot Boullion, Jack Reed, Gabe Reed, Frankie Ochsner, and Owen Merritt.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Rene' Breaux and the former Yolande Breaux; two sisters, Yolande Marie Breaux and Frankie Marie Breaux Robinson Potier.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Gueydan, 311 Fourth Street, on Thursday, October 1, 2015 from 10 a.m. until 8 p.m. with a rosary being prayed at 7 p.m.; Friday, October 2, 2015 from 9 a.m. until services.
