Abbeville—Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 10, 2015 at Macedonia Baptist Church honoring the life of Roland Joseph Levine, Jr., 37.
He will be laid to rest at St. Paul Cemetery with Rev. Ronell Cheatham officiating the services.
Roland Joseph Levine, Jr. known to his family as (June) was born to the union of the late Roland J. Levine, Sr. and Ruby M. Levine on January 29, 1978. He passed away on Sunday October 4, 2015 at Abbeville General Hospital.
He was the Unit Director of The Vermilion Boys and Girls Club Rodney Unit. He worked there for over 10 years. He started out as a member at the age of 13 and worked his way to Director. He was selected Boys and Girls Club youth of the year in 1995 and 1996, and also regional Key Stoner of the year in 1996. He was a mentor, big brother and father figure to many of his club members.
Roland was a loving father, son, brother and friend. He had an infectious smile and laugh. He leaves to cherish his memory his mother, Ruby M. Levine; fiancée, Marchetta Gage; two sons, Xavier Levine and Roland Levine, III; two stepsons, LaShane Gage and Zane Gage; two sisters, Rolanda Levine Antoine (Sedwin) of Lafayette,LA and Danisha Bernard; two step-brothers, Sean Phillips (Alicia) and Raymond Phillips (Tajah); one step-sister, Kimberly Phillips Alexander (Marlon); maternal grandmother, Mrs. Clara Mouton (Horace); four uncles, Herbert Levine, Jr.(Freida), Louis Levine (Lillian) of Dallas, TX, Stanley Mouton (Grace) of Delcambre, LA, and David Mouton of Houma, LA; eleven aunts, Mae Bell Valsin (Charles) of Port Author, TX ,Etha Mae Fenton, Theresa

He is preceded in death by his father, Roland J. Levine, Sr.; brother, Renaldo G. Levine; maternal grandfather, Horace Mouton; four uncles, Larry Mouton, Frank Goodie, James Goodie, and Rainey Levine; one aunt, Rosine Levine Cheatham; maternal great grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank and Pearl Grarrison Goodie, Mr. and Mrs. Esaw and Ester Fredrick Mouton; paternal grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Hebert and Theresa Bessard Levine.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Macedonia Baptist Church, 607 S. Bailey Street, Abbeville on Saturday, October 10, 2015 from 8:00 a.m. until time of services.
