Abbeville—Funeral services will be held Wednesday, October 14, 2015 at a 10:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church honoring the life of Wilda Naquin Faulk, 99, who died Saturday, October 10, 2015 at her residence.
She will be laid to rest at St. Mary Magdalen Cemetery with Rev. Brian Harringon officiating the services. Pallbearers will be Donald Cobb, Daniel Cobb, Douglas Cobb, Ryan Faulk, Maik Flanagin and Richard Dronet.
Mrs. Faulk was born on March 2, 1916 in Abbeville. For a brief few years, she lived in Jennings then her family moved to Kaplan. There she met her husband of 53 years, Marion C. Faulk, and they moved to Abbeville for the rest of her life.
She was a member of St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church and a member of the Catholic Daughters. She was a member of a rosary group for many years.
Mrs. Faulk was one of twelve children and always had her job and responsibility in the large family. If anyone, family or friend needed her, she was there. She was a homemaker all her life and was a wonderful cook. She also enjoyed her card games, especially Boureé. The friends she made over the years were a blessing to her. Her long life leaves us with many special and loving memories.
She is survived by a daughter, Sandra Faulk Cobb Viator (Larry); a son, Kevin Faulk (Meta); grandchildren, Andreé LeBlanc, Leslie Hector, Donald Cobb, Douglas Cobb, Daniel Cobb and Ryan Faulk; three step grandchildren; six great grandchildren; eleven step-great grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Sioux Faulk; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Marion C. Faulk; parents, Elmira Freyou Naquin and Arthur Naquin; son, Michael Faulk; daughter, Beverly F. LeBlanc-Schriefer; grandson, Marc LeBlanc; step great grandson, Jared Adcock; brothers-in-law, Donald and Fabian "Black" Faulk; beloved sister-in-law, Leontine "Loule" Savoy; seven sisters; and four brothers.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Abbeville, 209 S. St. Charles Street, on Tuesday, October 13, 2015 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. with a rosary to be prayed at 6:30 p.m.; Wednesday, October 14, 2015 from 8:00 a.m. until 9:45 a.m. when the procession will depart for the church.
The family would like to extend their gratitude and heartfelt thanks to Lamm Hospice and Dr. Ronald Lahasky for their loving care in her greatest need. Also to Janice Taylor, her caregiver and loving friend to the end.
