Abbeville—Funeral services will be held Friday, October 23, 2015 at a 2:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Therese of the Child Jesus Church honoring the life of Rena Isabelle Sellers Hebert, 92, who died Tuesday, October 20, 2015.
She will be laid to rest at St. Paul Cemetery with Rev. Gregory Cormier officiating the services. Pallbearers will be Michael J. Hebert, Marty J. Hebert, Jason D. Meaux, Ryan J. Richard, Shawn P. Girard, Derek P. Myers, and James B. Clement, Jr. Honorary pallbearers will be her sons, Clifford and Dennis Hebert, and son-in-law, Alvin Moore.
Rena was a very loving mother, grandmother and friend. She will be most remembered for her great love and devotion to Jesus and family. No matter what happened in her life she always maintained a positive and Godly spirit. She taught catechism for over 30 years and was a member of the St. Therese of the Child Jesus Church Ladies Altar Society.
She is survived by her two sons, Clifford N. Hebert, Jr. and his wife Debra of Erath, and Dennis J. Hebert and his wife Carmen of Abbeville; daughter, Mary H. Moore and her husband Alvin of Abbeville; two brothers, Paul Emery Sellers of Lafayette and John Dalton Sellers of Abbeville; eight grandchildren, Tracy, Michael, Jeanne, Marty, Mischa, Megan, Christine, and Allison; fifteen great grandchildren and one on the way; three step-grandchildren; and ten step great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clifford N. Hebert, Sr.; parents, Leoscar Sellers and the former Bernadette Margarite Luquette; son, Larry Michael Hebert; and infant daughter, Theresa Hebert.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Abbeville, 209 S. St. Charles Street, on Thursday, October 22, 2015 from 9:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. with a rosary to be prayed at 7:00 p.m.; Friday, October 23, 2015 from 8:00 a.m. until 1:45 p.m. when the procession will depart for the church.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Hospice of Acadiana for the wonderful care given to their mother.
