Abbeville—Funeral services will be held Monday, November 16, 2015 at a 11:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Therese of the Child Jesus Church honoring the life of Rachel Babineaux, 88, who died Saturday, November 14, 2015 at Maison du Monde Living Center.
She will be laid to rest at St. Paul Cemetery with Rev. Gregory Cormier officiating the services. Rachel was a loving wife and mother. She was a Cub Scout Den mother, a catechism school teacher and a member of the PTA.
She worked for many years working at Robert Stouffer's, West Brother's and Morgan and Lindsey. She was also a Genealogist.
When it came to her family she was a very special person. She always helped out as much as she could to anyone that was in need. She never complained or tired out.
She is survived by her three sons, Russell Wayne Babineaux and his wife Rosemary, Sammy David Babineaux, and his wife Brandy and Tommy Carl Babineaux and his wife Juanita; sister, Gussie Hebert Vice; five grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and three great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilfred Joseph Babineaux; parents, John Remi Hebert and the former Elaina Guidry; sister, Mildred Hebert LeBlanc; and two daughters-in-law, Elaine Ann Boudreaux Babineaux and Dorothy (Dotti) Louise Stephens Babineaux.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Abbeville, 209 S. St. Charles Street, on Sunday, November 15, 2015 from 9:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. with a rosary to be prayed at 7:00 p.m.; Monday 11/16/2015 from 8:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. when the procession will depart for the church
