Kaplan—Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, March 12, 2009 at Vincent Funeral Home - Kaplan honoring the life of May Dora S. Touchet, 75, who died Sunday, March 8, 2009 at LA Extended Care Hospital. She will be laid to rest at St. David Chapel Cemetery with Deacon David Vaughn officiating the services.
May Dora was a great old fashioned cajun cook. All of her family and friends will miss her great meals.
She is survived by her children, Dianna D. Touchet and companion Dallas Fabre of Maurice, Dwight D. Touchet and companion Sara Bell of Erath, Broderick J. Touchet and wife Gayle Touchet of Forked Island, Pullen W. Touchet and wife Natalie Touchet of Mouton Cove, and Arletta T. Choate and husband James Choate of Forked Island; her ex-husband, Joseph E. Touchet of Kaplan; grandchildren, Ray C. Stelly, Branden Stelly, Dwight Touchet Jr., Kimberly Morgan, Stacy Primeaux, Arron Touchet, Scotty Touchet, Jason Touchet, Crystal Bouillion, Joshua Touchet, Kevin Choate, and Jeremy Choate; great grandchildren, Justin, Jordin, Landon, Lindsey, David Shasa, Marcus, Colby, Malia, Monica, Chaz, Kimberly, Victoria, Carrie, Deacon, Alexia, Madison, Brody, Elizabeth, Braylon, and William; fourteen step-great grandchildren; a great-great grandchild expected in a few months; sister-in-law, Pauline Simon; six nieces, Alice, Gloria, Deanna, Lena Linda, Lisa; nephew, Dexter; a special friend, Ann, her homehealth sitter; her close friends at St. Martin de Tours in Kaplan; and her many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph F. Simon and Annonciade Primeaux; sister, Ladyes S. Richard; brother, Easton Simon; and an infant grandson.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Kaplan, 300 N. Eleazar Avenue, on Wednesday, March 11, 2009 from 9 a.m. until 10 p.m. with a rosary to be prayed at 7 p.m.; Thursday, March 12, from 8 a.m. until services.
