Leone Simon Broussard

September 30, 1918 — March 18, 2009

Kaplan—Funeral services will be held Friday, March 20, 2009 at an 11:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church honoring the life of Leone Simon Broussard, 90, who died Wednesday, March 18, 2009 at her residence. She will be laid to rest at Kaplan Cemetery with Reverend David Broussard officiating the services.

She is survived by one son, Carrol Lee "Yogi" Broussard of Kaplan; one daughter, Maudry Nell B. Landry of Houston, TX; two sisters, Eumae Gaspard and Mitha Mae Abshire, both of Kaplan; ten grandchildren; thirty great grandchildren; and a few great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Exalton "Sham" Broussard; one son, Harris Broussard; her parents, Asa and Amie Simon; two sisters, Yolande Schexnider and Eula Roche; and five brothers, Paul Simon, Whitney "Pete" Simon, Wilbe J. Simon, John Unes Simon, and James Bernard Simon.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Kaplan, 300 N. Eleazar Avenue, on Thursday, March 19, 2009 from 8 am until 10 pm with a rosary being prayed at 7 p.m.; Friday, March 20, from 8 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. when the procession departs for the church.
