Kaplan—Funeral services will be held Monday, December 14, 2015 at a 2 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Anne Catholic Church honoring the life of Laura Mae Gaspard Babineaux, 76, who died Tuesday, December 8, 2015 at her daughters residence. She will be laid to rest at St. Anne Cemetery with Reverend Keith Landry officiating the services.
Laura Mae was a dedicated employee at H & R Block for 30 years. She enjoyed attending LSU football and LSU baseball games.
She is survived by her loving companion, Herbert Billiot of Rayne; one son, Felix Babineaux and his wife, Alice of Liberal, KS; three daughters, JoEtta and her husband, Thomas Bourgoyne of Jonesville, Janeen Shcewmake of Mississippi, and Margo Babineaux and her husband, Jeff Svihlik of Valparaiso, IN; one sister, Mona and her husband Bart Primeaux of Cow Island; one brother, Hubert Gaspard of Meaux; nine grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest Gaspard and the former Mathilda Lange; two sisters, Lena Mae and Caldrey Ann Gaspard; and two brothers, Russell and Gilbert Gaspard .
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Kaplan, 300 N. Eleazar Avenue, on Sunday, December 13, 2015 from 3 p.m. until 8 p.m. with a rosary being prayed at 7 p.m.; Monday, December 14, 2015 from 9 a.m. until services.
