Velta Annette Landry

ABBEVILLE—Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 8, 2009 at St. Paul Cemetery, Jacqulyn Street in Abbeville honoring the life of Velta Annette Landry, 81, who died Monday, April 6, 2009 at Lafayette General Medical Center.

She will be laid to rest at St. Paul Cemetery with Reverend Kenneth Mayne officiating the services.

She is survived by her sister, Mary L. Joyce Richard and her husband A.W. Buck Richard; step- sister, Betty Landry; sisters-in-law, Mrs. Joseph Cleveland "Cecile" Landry and Mrs. Wilfred Jean "Beatrice" Landry; nephews and nieces, Paul Cleveland "Cleve" Landry, Joseph William "Billy" Landry, Madelyn Gallagher, Pam Thibodeaux, Mark Richard, Stifford Sonnier, Ted Sonnier, Sammy Sonnier, Dr. Karen Sonnier, Louella Graham, Louis Landry and Lawrence Landry; and numerous great nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Placide and Una G. Landry; husband, Albert Landry; sons, Denery and Albert Landry, Jr.; sister, Alice "Blonde" Sonnier; brother, Joseph Cleveland Landry; sister, Eva Dell Estilette; and brothers, Wilfred Jean Landry and C.D. Landry.

The family wishes to acknowledge special angels who were always there for her - treating her as a mother - Rena Menard, Lois and Cernal Cessac and staffs of Vermilion Health Care and Maison du Monde in Abbeville.
