Kaplan—Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 31, 2015 at a 11 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church honoring the life of Leverda Manceaux Callahan, 76, who died Monday, December 28, 2015 at Lafayette General Medical Center. She will be laid to rest at Kaplan Cemetery with Rev. Mark Miley officiating the services.
She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Lanis Joseph Callahan of Kaplan; two sons, Dexter J. Callahan and his wife, Brenda of Kaplan and Burton J. Callahan and his wife, Sharon of Meaux; one daughter, Monica and her husband, Kendel Miller of Kaplan; one brother, Roland Manceaux and his wife, Deanna of Lafayette; ten grandchildren, Dusty Callahan and his wife, Brandi, Jeremy Callahan and his companion, Micah Guidry, Trevor Callahan, Chris Callahan and his wife, Leslie, Christi and her husband, Neil Devoltz, Nikki and her husband, Ralph Fournier, Nickolas Callahan, Beau Callahan, Kirk Miller, and Matthew Miller; and ten great grandchildren, Alexa Callahan, Kyra Callahan, Maya Callahan, Hannah Devoltz, Hollie Devoltz, Hank Devoltz, Cooper Fournier, Cali Fournier, Kinsley Callahan, and Easton Callahan.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Percy Manceaux, Sr. and the former Larris Dartez; one brother, Percy Manceaux, Jr.; and one sister, Lezida LaPoint.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Kaplan, 300 N. Eleazar Avenue, on Wednesday, December 30, 2015 from 10 a.m. until 9 p.m. with a rosary being prayed at 7 p.m.; Thursday, December 31, 2015 from 8 a.m. until services.
