Roderick "Hot Rod" Vincent

Kaplan - A memorial service honoring the life of Roderick "Hot Rod" Vincent will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, January 23, 2016 at Riverside Church of Christ (200 South City Parkway, Lafayette, LA 70503). Rod passed away on January 9, 2016 due to a motorcycle accident while vacationing in Costa Rica.

He is survived by his only daughter, Tori Gerice Vincent of Lafayette, LA.

Rod grew up in Kaplan, LA and currently resided in Watson, LA. He was a member and attended Immaculate Conception Church in Denham Springs, LA. Rod retired as a First Sergeant/E8 after nearly 26 years of active service in the military. He served 4 years in the United States Army, 84th Engineer Battalion, Schofield Barracks, Hawaii. Upon returning to Louisiana, he joined the Louisiana National Guard and served 22 years in units all across the state. He was an area supervisor in Recruiting and Retention upon retiring. His retirement days were spent riding his Harley Davidson and enjoying his free time.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Willis Jerome Vincent and the former Geraldine Ruth Trahan; and one brother, Michael L. Vincent.
