Raywood Joseph Luquette

He will be laid to rest at St. Paul Cemetery with Reverend William C. Blanda officiating the services. Pallbearers will be Eric Luquette, Kent Luquette, Blake Luquette, Raywood Luquette, II, Bubba Carlin and Adam Carlin. Honorary pallbearers will be James Luquette.

Raywood was a veteran of the United States Marine Corp. He was a cattle farmer and member of the Abbeville Cattleman’s Association. He was a retired from Texaco with 29 years of service. He was a parishioner of St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church.

He is survived by wife of 58 years, Elaine Sellers Luquette of Abbeville; three sons, Kim Luquette and his wife Mary Fox Luquette of Abbeville, Mark Luquette and his wife Phyllis Menard Luquette of Abbeville and John Luquette and his wife Cynthia Menard Luquette of Abbeville; one daughter, Jackie Luquette Carlin and husband Adrian Kirk Carlin of Abbeville; two brothers, Curtis Luquette of Abbeville and Junior Luquette of Kaplan; two sisters, Betty Libersat of Groves, Texas and Ada Castille of Kaplan; twelve grandchildren; and eleven great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Sevengier Luquette and the former Margaret Ida Hebert.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Abbeville, 209 S. St. Charles Street, on Friday, April 17, 2009 from noon until 10:00 p.m. with a rosary to be prayed at 7:00 p.m.; Saturday, April 18, 2009 from 10:00 a.m. until time of services.
