Abbeville—Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, April 18, 2009 at Faith Hope Missionary Baptist Church honoring the life of Maurice DeShawn Broussard, 20, who died Saturday, April 11, 2009 at Abbeville General Hospital.
He will be laid to rest at St. Paul Cemetery with Pastor Stevens officiating the services.
He is survived by his mother, Carol Broussard-Turner; stepfather, Everette Turner; father, Alfred Brannon, Jr.; stepmother, Linda Brannon; one sister, Shalaca Broussard (Rodney); three brothers, Brad Broussard (Madeline), Michael Landry and Damien Brannon; three nephews, Bradley Broussard, Michael Broussard, Jr. and Aaron Joesph Bessard; two nieces, Sasha Bessard and Zavier Landry; maternal grandmother, Victorine Broussard of Abbeville; one great aunt, Annie Monnet of Beaumont, Texas; a host of loving aunts, uncles, other relatives; friends. Maurice also leaves cherish his loving companion, Ms. Sara Derouen and his godmother, Lona Dozier and godfather, Francis Brannon.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Morris "Buddy" Broussard, Sr.; paternal grandparents, Alfred Brannon, Sr. and Nolia Brannon; materal aunt, Jeanell Broussard Ruffins; three maternal uncles, Mervin, Marcus and Morris Broussard, Jr.; paternal uncle James Brannon; two paternal aunts, Alice Huntsberry and Carolyn Guidry; paternal grandmother, Alice Perro.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Faith Hope Missionary Baptist Church, 407 Duroq St., on Saturday, April 18, 2009 from 9:00 a.m. until service time
