Eula Abshire Trahan

February 9, 1917 — April 21, 2009

Gueydan—Funeral services will be held Friday, April 24, 2009 at a 2 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Peter the Apostle Roman Catholic Church honoring the life of Eula Abshire Trahan, 92, who died Tuesday, April 21, 2009 at Abrom Kaplan Memorial Hospital. She will be laid to rest at St. Mary Magdalen Cemetery with Reverend Mitchell Guidry officiating the services.

She is survived by seven grandchildren, Janet and her husband Mark Fontenot of Monroe, Brenda and her husband Ronnie Jones of Splendora, Texas, Mike Trahan and his wife Jodi of Kaplan, Phil Trahan and his wife Shonda of Caladonia, Mississippi, Jamie Trahan of Gueydan, Jolene and her husband Mark Hanson of Duson, and Jeanise and her husband Troy Meyers of Oklahoma; three step-grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; four step-great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul O. Trahan; both sons, Sherman Paul Trahan and Ronald Joseph Trahan; her parents, Cornelius Abshire and the former Noamie Hidalgo; three sisters, Euzide A. Mathiew, Evela A. Trahan and Lydia A. Hebert; both brothers, Nezier J. Abshire and Elidier Abshire; and one great grandchild, Braydan Trahan.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Gueydan, 311 Fourth Street, on Thursday, April 23, 2009 from 10 a.m. until 9 p.m.; Friday, April 24, from 8 a.m. until the procession departs for the church.
