Kaplan—Funeral services will be held Monday, February 22, 2016 at a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church honoring the life of Ruby Marie Bertrand, 88, who died Thursday, February 18, 2016 at Kaplan Healthcare Center. She will be laid to rest at Kaplan Cemetery with Reverend Mark Miley officiating the services.

She is survived by her two sons, Ronald Paul Bertrand and his wife, Jerry of Kaplan and Marion Bertrand and his wife, Bonnie of Kaplan; one daughter, Arlene B. Rung and her husband, Dean of Kaplan; one sister, Ellagene Adams of Kaplan; nine grandchildren, Monte Bertrand, Steven Bertrand and his wife, Lisa, Greg Bertrand an his wife, Shawn, Jennifer and her husband, Jared Marceaux, David Bertrand, Lindsey Bertrand, Dana and her husband, Paul Bourque, Kayla and her husband, John Hebert, and Alaina and her husband Jeremy Richard; nine great grandchildren; and two step-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Percy Bertrand; her parents, Fernest Abshire and the former Azelia DeBlanc; two brothers, Alton and Bill Abshire; and five sisters, Willa Lege, Hilda Mouton, Lula Abshire, Ruth Trahan, and Eva Beard.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Kaplan, 300 N. Eleazar Avenue, on Sunday, February 21, 2016 from 11 a.m. until 9 p.m. with a rosary being prayed at 7 p.m.; Monday, February 22, 2016 from 8 a.m. until 9:45 a.m. when the procession departs for the church.
