Ozare Steven Abshire

December 16, 1947 — April 23, 2009

Memorial services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, May 2, 2009 at Abbeville United Methodist Church honoring the life of Ozare Steven Abshire, 61, who died Thursday, April 23, 2009 at a Lafayette hospital.

He will be laid to rest at Bancker Cemetery with Rev. Ed Dillworth officiating the services.

He is survived by three sons, Eric Dane Abshire of Abbeville, Daniel Troy Abshire of Beeville, Texas and Colby Dale Abshire of Abbeville; three daughters, Kristal Lynn Abshire of Abbeville, Rhonda Nichole Abshire of Abshire and Lisa Kay Abshire Schexnayder of Crowley; eight grandchildren; one brother, Arain Abshire of Lake Charles; and five sisters, Dorothy Borcklehurst of Orange, Texas, Linda Leger of Lake Charles, Betty Hooper of Longville, Sara Abshire of Lake Charles and Lynn Wells of Glenmore.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Dora Rebecca Ramke Abshire; parents, Ozare Steve Abshire and the former Junaita Fermantal; two brothers, Bill Abshire and John Wells; one sister, Stella Bartholomew; and one grandson, Donavon Quinn Schexnayder.
