Mabel Noel Lyons, 90, of Bonita Springs, FL passed away Saturday, February 20, 2016 at Brookdale Bonita Springs. Formerly of Jackson, MS, she had been a resident of Bonita Springs for the past 2 years. Mabel was born October 15, 1925 in Abbeville, LA a daughter of the late Louis Henry and Elizabeth (Griffin) Noel. Mabel’s career was spent working for over 40 years in retail sales at Maison Weiss in Jackson, MS until her retirement in 1991. As a member of the Jackson Stitchery Guild, Mabel enjoyed knitting, needlepoint and crochet. Mrs. Lyons was also an active and faithful parishioner at St. Richard Catholic Church in Jackson, MS.
Survivors include her loving children, Dr. Edward P. (Donna) Lyons of Lafayette, LA, H. David Lyons Jr. of Meridian, ID, Michelle L. (Mac) McCarthy of Bonita Springs, FL, and Ethel (Chris) Smith of Olive Branch, MS; grandchildren, Sheryl, Daniel, Brandon, Brent, Lauren, Natalie, Allen and Madelyn; and 14 great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harold D. Lyons Sr. in 2007; and her 14 siblings.
The family will receive friends and family on Thursday, February 25, 2016 from 10:00 am – 1:00 pm at Vincent Funeral Home, 209 S. St. Charles St., Abbeville, LA 70510. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:00 pm at St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church. Interment will immediately follow in St. Mary Magdalen Cemetery.
