Amy Maturin Trahan

She will be laid to rest at St. Mary Magdalen Cemetery with Reverend William C. Blanda officiating the services. Pallbearers will be Terry Delahoussaye, Junior Goutierrez, Eddie Goutierrez, Chip Goutierrez, Ryan Bares, Chris Ethridge and Ix Romero. Honorary pallbearers will be Ban Delahoussaye, Danny Delahoussaye, Clay Benton and Jim Earnest.
Amy was a member of the St. Anne's Ladies Alter Society and parishioner of St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church.
She is survived by daughters, Mary Joyce Trahan and Verna Trahan both of Abbeville; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Ban and Vergie Delahoussaye; their children and their spouses, Terry, Cheryl, Charlotte, Junior and Roz; their children, Eddie, Danny, Keshia, Jenni, Ryan and Chip; their grandchildren; and her neighbor, Clara Cohorn.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilson "Slim" Trahan; parents, Jean Maturin and the former Modes Gary; brothers, Sidney Maturin, Sylvan Maturin, Dudley Maturin; sisters, Leonada Romero and Olive Maturin; and a nephew, Garrett Goutierrez.
The family would like to express special thanks to the staff and nurses of Abbeville General Hospital, Acadian HomeCare and Hospice of Acadiana for their compassionate care.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Abbeville, 209 S. St. Charles Street, on Wednesday, April 29, 2009 from 7:30 a.m. until time of services.
