Edmonia Bernard Frederick

Abbeville—Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 2, 2009 at a 11:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Therese of the Child Jesus Church honoring the life of Edmonia Bernard Frederick, 97, who died Thursday, April 30, 2009 at Rapides Medical Center.

She will be laid to rest at St. Paul Cemetery with Fr. Austin Leger officiating the services.

She is survived by four sons, Presley "Buck" Frederick and wife Mary of Baton Rouge, Roland Frederick and wife Agnes of Abbeville, Ronnie Frederick of Baton Rouge and Brady Frederick and wife Marty of Abbeville; three daughters, Jane Hebert of Abbeville, Dean Hebert and husband Preston of Lafayette and JoAnn Noel and husband Eugene of Alexandria; one sister, Beatrice Bernard of Youngsville; daughter-in-law, Laura Frederick; twenty-five grandchildren; thirty-four great grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Theodore Frederick; parents, Rousseaux and Rosa Richard Bernard; a son, Nolan Frederick; a daughter, Peggy Frederick; sister, Mathilde Bernard and a brother, Homer Bernard.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Abbeville, 209 S. St. Charles Street, on Friday, May 1, 2009 from 4:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. with a rosary to be prayed at 7:00 p.m. and Saturday from 8:00 a.m. until time of services.
