He is survived by his spouse of 38 years, Brenda Istre Fruge of Kaplan; two daughters, Heather Fruge and her spouse, Kevin Cormier of Kaplan and Bonnie Fruge and her husband, Casey Monceaux of Maurice; four grandchildren, Katherine Cormier, Hannah Monceaux, Isabella Monceaux, and Tommy Monceaux; two sisters, Elizabeth "Biddy" and her husband, Brad Derouen of New Iberia and Anna and her husband, Bob Guidry of Lafayette; two brothers, Robert Fruge and his wife, Sandy of Gueydan and Raymond "Buck" Fruge and his wife, Roxanne of Crowley; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lawless Joseph Fruge, Sr. and the former Katherine Rizzuto; and two sisters, Margaret Kibodeaux and Katherine "Katie" Benoit.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Kaplan, 300 N. Eleazar Avenue, on Wednesday, April 6, 2016 from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. with a rosary being prayed at 7 p.m.; Thursday, April 7, 2016 from 8 a.m. until services.
