Kaplan—Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 23, 2016 at Vincent Funeral Home - Kaplan honoring the life of Fernest “Myout” Abshire, Jr., 79, who died Wednesday, April 20, 2016 at Eunice Extended Care Hospital. He will be laid to rest at Abshire Cemetery with Deacon David Vaughn officiating the services.

He is survived by his two sisters, Lorraine LeBlanc of Sulphur and Ella Rose and her husband, Jim Barber of Vinton; and one brother, Steven Abshire and his wife, Judy of Kaplan.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Fernest Abshire, Sr. and the former Eda Marceaux; and four brothers, J.B., Phillip, Hubert, and John Abshire.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Kaplan, 300 N. Eleazar Avenue, on Saturday, April 23, 2016 from 8 a.m. until services with a rosary being prayed at 10 a.m.
