Kaplan—Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 7, 2016 at a 1:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church honoring the life of Kevin Guidry, 52, who passed away Thursday, May 5, 2016 at Lafayette General Medical Center. He will be laid to rest at Kaplan Cemetery with Reverend Mark Miley officiating the services. Serving as pallbearers will be David Hardee, Daniel Domingue, Willie Leonard, Jeremy Primeaux, Brady Stelly, and Sammy Broussard. Honorary pallbearers will be Mayor Kirk Champagne, Councilman John Carbaugh, Brent Dubois, and Mason Guidry. Scripture readings for the service will be read by Eva Dell Morrison and Christine Trahan.
Kevin was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Melissa Guidry of Kaplan; one son, Casey Guidry and his wife, Jacquelyne of Kaplan; two grandchildren, Mason and Audrey Guidry of Kaplan; two sisters, Gail Stelly of Duson and June Guidry of Kaplan; and one brother, David Guidry and his wife, Sherry of Carencro.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry Guidry and the former Audrey Doucet.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Kaplan, 300 N. Eleazar Avenue, on Friday, May 6, 2016 from 5 p.m. until 10 p.m. with a rosary being prayed at 7 p.m.; Saturday, May 7, 2016 from 9 a.m. until services.
