Abbeville—Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 11, 2016 at a 11:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church honoring the life of Virgie Mary Broussard Foreman, 94, who died Thursday, June 9, 2016 at Pelican Pointe Healthcare & Rehabilitation.
She will be laid to rest at Indian Bayou Methodist Cemetery with Rev. Johnathan Janise officiating the services. Pallbearers will be Guy Comeaux, Vince Comeaux, Coy Gisclair, Brad Thibodeaux, Trent Guidry and Kirk Menard.
Virgie was an avid supporter of Louisiana Cooperative Extension Service and 4-H. She served as president on the parish, state and national levels of L.V.F.C. She was inducted into the Louisiana and National 4-H Hall of Fame.
She is survived by her three daughters, Gwendolyn Comeaux and her husband Larry of Judice, Patricia Guidry and her husband McRay of Maurice, and Peggy Gisclair and her husband Larry of Houston, TX; sister, Dorothy B. Menard of Groves, TX; ten grandchildren; nineteen great grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Youngs Foreman; parents, Armance Broussard, Sr. and the former Ella Schexneider; brothers, Oscar, Lorman and Dalton Lormand, Lawrence "Sing" Broussard and Armance Broussard, Jr.; sisters, Verna Smith and Emma Stein; great grandchild, Victor Gisclair; and step great grandson, Shane Caldwell.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Abbeville, 209 S. St. Charles Street, on Friday, June 10, 2016 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.; Saturday, June 11, 2016, from 8:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. when the procession will depart for the church.
