Hilda “Pip” Broussard Dufour

September 22, 1918 — June 6, 2009

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 9, 2009 at a 2:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial at Vincent Funeral Home - Abbeville honoring the life of Hilda “Pip” Broussard Dufour, 90, who died Saturday, June 6, 2009 at her residence.

She will be laid to rest at St. Paul Cemetery with Fr. Paul Broussard officiating the services. Pallbearers include Cliff Choate, Dirk Choate, Gary Dufour, Peter Broussard, Rodney Sagrera and David Sagrera.

She is survived by her daughter, Cheryl Dufour Choate and husband Boyd of Abbeville ; grandsons, Cliff R. Choate and Dirk B. Choate and wife Jada of of Abbeville; great grandchildren, Jade Michael Choate, Noelle Choate and Rylee Choate all of Abbeville; brothers, N.R. Broussard of Abbeville, Huey Broussard of Pine Island and Mark Broussard of Abbeville; sisters, Wilda Broussard of Abbeville, Norma B. Sloan of Slidell and Gleada Broussard of Abbeville.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Aaron Dufour; parents, Mr. and Mrs. Johnnie and Genevieve LaPlace Broussard; sister, Stella B. Broussard; and two brothers, Howard P. Broussard and Joseph "Bula" Broussard.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Abbeville, 209 S. St. Charles Street, on Monday, June 8, 2009 3:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. with a rosary at 7:00 p.m. They will reopen on Tuesday, June 9, 2009 at 9:00 a.m. until time of services.

The family would like to thank her sitters, Linda, Tyesha and Marlene; also all of the family and friends who helped with her care. A special thank you to St. Theresa Hospice, Concept of Care Home Health and especially Donna, Ray, Cheryl and Madge.
