Abbeville—Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, July 11, 2016 at Vincent Funeral Home - Abbeville honoring the life of Golden Joseph Richard, 84, who died Thursday, July 7, 2016 at Maison du Monde Living Center.
He will be laid to rest at Graceland Cemetery with Reverend Lane Payne officiating the services.
Golden was a 1950 graduate of Abbeville High School. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force who served our country during the Korean Conflict. Owner/operator of Golden's Pak-A-Snak and Golden's Meat Shack for 47 years.
He is survived by his daughter, Jodie R. LeBlanc and her husband Ricky of Abbeville; son, Jade N. Richard and his wife Felicia of New Orleans; three grandchildren, Brandie S. Racheau and her husband Brent of New Iberia, Blake M. Simon of Abbeville, and Weslee Richard of New Orleans; and godchild, Dale M. Penney of Laurel, MS.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Rosenell C. Richard; parents, Fernest Richard and the former Eunice Sonnier; granddaughter, Tori Elizabeth Richard; and sister, Shirley R. Ledet.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Abbeville, 209 S. St. Charles Street, on Sunday, July 10, 2016 from 9:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m.; Monday, July 11, 2016, from 8:00 a.m. until time of service.
