Kaplan—Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, July 11, 2016 at Kaplan Cemetery honoring the life of James K. Polk, 70, who died Friday, July 8, 2016 at his residence. He will be laid to rest at Kaplan Cemetery with Chaplain Paul Broussard officiating the services.
He is survived by his son, Jimmy Polk and his wife, Andrea of North Dakota; two daughters, Crystal and her husband, Scott Clemence of South Carolina and Vicky and her husband, Richard Parker of Texas; one stepson, Gary Foster and his partner, Trey Rayborn of Kaplan; one stepdaughter, Angelique Williams and her family of Gueydan; two sisters, Mary Bowman of Texas and Rose Ramsey of Ohio; eight grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Celeste Foster; his parents, Turner James Polk and the former Ruth Ida Marie Miller; and one stepdaughter, Natasha Foster.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
