Gueydan—Funeral services will be held Friday, July 15, 2016 at a 1 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Peter the Apostle Roman Catholic Church honoring the life of Dalton Joseph Manceaux, 85, who died peacefully on Wednesday, July 13, 2016 surrounded by his loved ones. He will be laid to rest at Gueydan Cemetery with Reverend Corey Campeaux officiating the services. Serving as pallbearers will be Joseph Broussard, William Broussard, Matthew Broussard, Kendred Manceaux Jr., Larry Domingue, and Nicholas Manceaux. Honorary pallbearers will be Darrell Broussard Jr., Kyle Manceaux, John Theriot, Harold "Jimbo" Broussard, A.B. Domingue, Vernice Marceaux, and Keenan Manceaux.

Dalton was a graduate of Gueydan High School. He attended Spencer Business College, was a rice farmer in the Gueydan area and spent one year in the seminary. Dalton was a disabled veteran of the United States Army and a lifelong member of the Knights of Columbus.

He is survived by his two sisters, Lois Manceaux and Sylvia and her husband, Darrell Broussard Sr.; one sister-in-law, Rose Manceaux; and one brother-in-law, A.B. Domingue. He also leaves many happy memories on the hearts of his nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ophe Manceaux and the former Edith Woods; one sister, Ouida Domingue; and two brothers, Harold Manceaux and Kendred Manceaux Sr.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Gueydan, 311 Fourth Street, on Friday, July 15, 2016 from 10 a.m. until services.
