Margie Landry Broussard

Abbeville—Funeral services will be held Monday, August 1, 2016 at a 10:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church honoring the life of Margie Landry Broussard, 86, who died Friday, July 29, 2016 at her residence.

She will be laid to rest at St. Paul Cemetery with Fr. Michael Richard officiating the services.

She is survived by three sons, Donald H. Broussard, Jr. and his wife, Annette of Lafayette, Marty Broussard of Gueydan, and Gordon Broussard and his wife Tami of Abbeville; four daughters, Josie B. Hebert of Abbeville, Rachael Ann Broussard and her husband Randy of Abbeville, Gay Hargrave and her husband Martin of Abbeville, and Laurie Landry and her husband Chris of Abbeville; former son-in-law, Richard Hebert of Indian Bayou, former daughter-in-law, Brittany Broussard of Gueydan; sixteen grandchildren, Jessica Smith, Ryan Hebert, Theresa Jones, Andrew Broussard, Mary Catherine Kelty, Cade Broussard, Katie Leleux, Layla Hargrave, Julie Hargrave, Jace Hebert, Ty Broussard, Ali Broussard, Christopher Landry, Jennifer Landry, Leah Broussard, and Bryce Broussard; and fifteen great grandchildren, Emily Smith, Issac Smith, Cayden Hebert, Lukas Hebert, Juliana Hebert, Christian Jones, John Pierre Jones, Phillip Broussard, Carlyn Ledet, Jolie Baudoin, Parker Hebert, Sawyer Hebert, Ava Landry, and Ross Lavergne.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald H. "Bubba" Broussard, Sr.; parents, Leoday Landry and the former Ethel Breaux; great grandson, Lane S. Smith; sister, Wanda Wiedemann; and son in law, John Hardy.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church, 300 Pere Megret Street, on Monday, August 1, 2016 from 9:00 a.m. until time of service.

Margie’s family would like to offer a heartfelt thanks and appreciation for the loving care provided by Acadian Hospice and her caregivers, Brenda Mitchell, Carolyn Evans, Vera Shelvin, Twyla Evans, Sarah Samuels, Linda Broussard, Lou Allen, and Colette Ruffins.

In lieu of flowers the family would like donations to be made to Mount Carmel Elementary School.
