Lorena Abshire Reese
June 19, 1925 — August 10, 2016
Lorena joined her beloved husband, Clyde, on the anniversary of his death exactly 29 years later. Throughout her life, some of her passions included maintaining her many flower gardens, visiting with friends, spoiling her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, cooking delicious Sunday dinners, and drinking coffee.
She is survived by her son, Clyde Reese, Jr. and his wife, Donna of Gueydan; five grandchildren, Kayla and her husband, Cory Langlinais, Kristi and her husband, Cody Gaspard, K'Rees and her husband, Jerrod Broussard, Maegan and her husband, Clayton Pistorius, and Simone Reese; eight great grandchildren, Lexi Langlinais, Nick Langlinais, Joseph Langlinais, Emma Gaspard, Ella Gaspard, Ada Broussard, John Logan Broussard, and Addison Claire Cavin; one son-in-law, Logan Woods of Gueydan; three sisters, Mandred and her husband, Frank Sheetz of Atlanta, GA, Willa Mae and her husband, Wilson LeJeune of Gueydan, and Hazel Guidry of Gueydan.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Reese, Sr.; one daughter, Karen Woods, one brother, Olidie Abshire; one sister, Gussie Gorris; and one brother-in-law, Ted Guidry; and her parents, Ovie Abshire and the former Philomena Broussard.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Gueydan, 311 Fourth Street, on Friday, August 12, 2016 from 10 a.m. until 10 p.m. with a rosary being prayed at 7 p.m.; Sunday, August 14, 2016 from 10 a.m. until services.
