She will be laid to rest at St. Paul Cemetery with Rev. Gregory Cormier officiating the services.
She is survived by her sons, Douglas Romero and his wife Ruby of Abbeville, and Russell Romero and his wife Rita of Shreveport; daughter, Vickie Landry and her husband Ray of Abbeville; six grandchildren, Melvin Romero and his wife Beth, Michelle Dartez and her husband Kenneth, Marshall Romero and his wife Rayna, Cory Romero and his wife Amber, Meghann Landry and wife Summer, and Ian Landry; nine great grandchildren; and nine great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Alphe Romero; parents, Oneida and Elita Vice Pontiff; brothers, Dudless, Lurby, Lennis, Melvin and Carrol; sister, Mildred Pontiff; and grandson, Jason Romero.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Abbeville, 209 S. St. Charles Street, on Thursday, August 18, 2016 from 4:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. with a rosary to be prayed at 7:00 p.m.; Friday, August 19, 2016 from 8:00 a.m. until 9:45 a.m. when the procession will depart for the church.
