Kaplan—Funeral services will be held Friday, August 26, 2016 at a 1 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church honoring the life of Erna Richard LaPointe, 86, who died Tuesday, August 23, 2016 at Kaplan Healthcare Center. She will be laid to rest at Kaplan Cemetery with Rev. Paul Bienvenu officiating the services.

She is survived by her two sons, Dickey LaPointe of Kaplan and Darrell LaPoint and his wife, Melinda of Abbeville; three daughters, Tilda Touchet of Kaplan, Connie LaPointe of Kaplan, and Kathleen Hoffpauir of Kaplan; one brother, Eddie Richard of Gueydan; 13 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul LaPointe; her parents, Duplicce Richard and the former Angelle Schexnayder; eight sisters; and two brothers

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Kaplan, 300 N. Eleazar Avenue, on Thursday, August 25, 2016 from 11 a.m. until 9 p.m. with a rosary being prayed at 7 p.m.; Friday, August 26, 2016 from 8 a.m. until services.
