Kaplan—Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, August 29, 2016 at Vincent Funeral Home - Kaplan honoring the life of Shelton Joseph Saltzman, 87, who died Friday, August 26, 2016 at his residence. He will be laid to rest at Kaplan Cemetery with Deacon David Rozas officiating the services.

He is survived by his son, Charles W. Saltzman of Cow Island; two daughters, Barbara S. Hargrave of Kaplan and Carmen and her husband Robert O. Perryman of Kaplan; two sisters, Laura S. Henry of Wright and Olite Guidry of Mulvey; 7 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Clara Hargrave; his parents, Minos Saltzman and the former Oza Abshire; his brother, Linest Saltzman; and his grandson, Cody Trahan.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Kaplan, 300 N. Eleazar Avenue, on Sunday, August 28, 2016 from 11 a.m. until 10 p.m. with a rosary being prayed at 6 p.m.; Monday, August 29, from 8 a.m. until services.
