Kaplan—Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 2, 2009 at a 2 pm Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church honoring the life of Lua "Peru" Broussard, 89, who died Monday, June 29, 2009 at Abrom Kaplan Memorial Hospital. He will be laid to rest at Kaplan Cemetery with Reverend Clint Trahan officiating the services.
He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Wilda Broussard of Kaplan; two daughters, Dora B. Broussard and her husband Paul of Kaplan and Marlene B. Romero and her husband Larry of Kaplan; five grandchildren, Paulette B. Gaspard and her husband Gaulman, Dori B. Vincent and her husband Roderick, Rahn C. Broussard and his wife Ashley, Chance A. Romero, and Chezz A. Romero; and three great grandchildren, Meaghan G. Boudreaux and her husband Beau, Mallory A. Gaspard, and Tori G. Vincent.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Avery Broussard and the former Edith Vincent; one grandson, Thad Broussard; one brother, Dayare Broussard; and one sister, Nida Broussard.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Kaplan, 300 N. Eleazar Avenue, on Wednesday, July 1, 2009 from 3 pm until 9 pm with a rosary being prayed at 7 pm; Thursday, July 2, from 8 am until 1:45 pm when the procession will depart for the church.
