Abbeville - Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 13, 2016 at 11:30 AM at Vincent Funeral Home - Abbeville honoring the life of Elson P. Duhon, 73 years, who died Tuesday, October 11, 2016 at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital. He will be laid to rest at St. Paul Cemetery with Rev. Greg Cormier officiating the services.

Elson was the owner of Duhon’s Body Shop from 1966 to 1981, Duhon’s Mud Hole from 1996 to 2013, and Duhon’s Gun Shop from 1985 until his passing.

He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Rebecca Broussard Duhon of Abbeville; two daughters, Janet and her husband, Donny Simon of Abbeville and Allison Duhon of Abbeville; one grandchild, Tiffany and her husband, Garrett Rudolph of Milton; and two great grandchildren, Morgan and Gavin Rudolph.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Allison Duhon and the former Zelia Baudoin.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Abbeville, 209 S. St. Charles St., on Wednesday, October 12, 2016 from 10 AM until 10 PM with a rosary being prayed at 7 PM. Visitation will resume on Thursday, October 13, 2016 at 8 AM until services.
