Kaplan - Ellagene Richard Bertrand, born April 14, 1932, died November 10, 2016, at Southwind Nursing Home in Crowley at the age of 84 after a brief illness. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday November 12, 2016 at Vincent Funeral Home - Kaplan. She will be laid to rest at Kaplan Cemetery with Deacon David Vaughn officiating the services.

She is survived by her three children, Brenda Hardee (Johnnie) of Arkadelphia, AR, Judy Guilbeaux (Danny) of Kaplan, and Willis Bertrand (Lisa Trahan) of Kaplan; five grandchildren, Abigail Hardee Caputo (Louis) of Nashville, TN, Matthew Hardee (Julie Pennington) of Little Rock, Brent Guilbeaux (Jessica Charrier) of Baton Rouge, Travis Bertrand of Kaplan, Laine Bertrand of Kaplan. She is also survived by six great grandchildren, Catalina, Gus, Max, and Oliver Caputo, Madison Guilbeaux, and Ashton Bertrand.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Bertrand; her parents, Nastar and Alida Vincent Richard; and her eleven siblings.

The family would like to acknowledge Southwind Nursing Home and Lamm Hospice for their compassion and thoughtfulness during her illness.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Kaplan, 300 N. Eleazar Ave., on Saturday November 12, 2016 from 9:00 AM until services with a rosary being prayed at 11:30 AM.
