Johnny Broussard

August 9, 1942 — July 30, 2009

Kaplan—Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 1, 2009 at a 1 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church honoring the life of John Gordy "Johnny" Broussard Jr., 66, who died Thursday, July 30, 2009 at LA Extended Care Hospital. He will be laid to rest at Cossinade Cemetery with Reverend William Ruskoski officiating the services.

He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Karen Broussard of Kaplan; one son, Gordy Broussard and his wife Cynthia of Kaplan; two daughters, Julie and her husband Mark Trahan and Leslie and her husband Mike Devall Jr., all of Hackberry; his mother, Myrtis Broussard of Kaplan; three sisters, Anne and her husband Mike Langlinais of Cow Island, Joan and her husband Tommy Meagher of Lafayette, and Ellen and her husband Lonnie Vincent of Kaplan; and eight grandchildren, Jolie, Jeanne and Jacques Trahan, John Gordy, Emma and Claire Broussard, and Gracie and Roy Devall.

He was preceded in death by his father, John Gordy "Ken" Broussard Sr.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Kaplan, 300 N. Eleazar Avenue, on Friday, July 31, 2009 from 4 p.m. until 10 p.m. with a rosary to be prayed at 7 p.m.; Saturday, August 1, from 8 a.m. until 12:45 p.m. when the procession will depart for the church.
