Kaplan—A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, December 19, 2016 at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church honoring the life of Cecil "C.B." Cooley, 85 years, who died on Friday, December 16, 2016 at Southwest Louisiana War Veterans Home. He will be laid to rest at Kaplan Cemetery with Reverend Mark Miley officiating the services.
Mr. Cooley served in the United States Army from 1947 - 1952, serving in Korea. While in the service he worked with construction engineers in Canada, Japan, and Korea. Following his discharge he began his career in the oil patch, working with companies which included Magnolia Petroleum, Goliad Corporation, Wanda Petroleum, U.S. Department of Energy (Strategic Petroleum Reserve), Evangeline Refining Co., and finally self employed and owner of Cooley Hydrostatic Testing.
He is survived by his two sons, Michael Cooley of Oregon and Mark Cooley of Oklahoma; one daughter, Shelly Radisauskas of Idaho; two brothers, Clay Cooley of Mississippi and Kim Cooley of Mississippi; and five grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Gladys Duhon Cooley; one son, Scott Cooley; one daughter, Alana Cooley; and his parents, Cecil "Benny" Cooley, Sr. and the former Marie Adelle Mehaeffy.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Kaplan, 300 N. Eleazar Ave., on Monday, December 19, 2016 from 9:00 AM until the procession departs for the church with a rosary being prayed at 11:00 AM.
