Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, August 11, 2009 at Vincent Funeral Home - Abbeville honoring the life of Gilbert Lee Tribe, 70, who died Sunday, August 9, 2009 at Southwest Medical Center.

He will be laid to rest at LeBlanc Community Cemetery with Deacon David Vaughn officiating the services. Pallbearers will be Bobby Gary, Dexter Broussard, Glenn David, Jr., James Michael Bernard, Drake Broussard and Billy Gary. Honorary pallbearers will be Russell Tribe, Earl Tribe, Charles Tribe, Michael Tribe, Max David and Abbey Broussard.

He is survived by his companion, Verna Broussard; stepsons, Alton Broussard, Jr. and wife JoAnn and Darrell Broussard and wife Ellen; stepdaughters, Kathy Gary and husband Danny, Karen Broussard and Dianne David; brothers, Russell Tribe and wife Rose, Earl Tribe and wife Roberta, Charles Tribe and wife Sue and Michael Tribe; sisters, Ramona Theall and Joyce Monique and husband Norris; eight step grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Boni P. Tribe and the former, Delta Marie LeBlanc; and sister, Leona Krieg.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Abbeville, 209 S. St. Charles Street, on Monday, August 10, 2009 from 3:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. with a rosary to be prayed at 7:00 p.m.; Tuesday, August 11, 2009 from 8:00 a.m. until time of services.
