Kaplan—A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, January 16, 2017 at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church honoring the life of Mary Myrtis Abshire, 72 years, who died on Saturday, January 14, 2017 at her residence. She will be laid to rest at LeMaire Cemetery with Reverend Mark Miley officiating the services.

She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Winferd Abshire of Kaplan; one son, Kevin Abshire and his wife, Sydney of Kaplan; two grandchildren, Blake Hargrave and his wife, Robyn and Kelli and her husband, Colt North; three great grandchildren, Kalyn Hargrave, Mallory Hargrave, and Noah North; and one sister, Eula Mae Rung Abshire.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ellis Rung, Sr. and the former Mable LeMaire; and one brother, Ellis Rung, Jr.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Kaplan, 300 N. Eleazar Ave., on Monday, January 16, 2017 from 9:00 AM until the procession departs for the church with a rosary being prayed at 11:00 AM.
