Clifford Nicholas Hebert, Sr.

July 7, 1921 — August 12, 2009

Funeral services will be held Friday, August 14, 2009 at a 1:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Therese of the Child Jesus Church honoring the life of Clifford Nicholas Hebert, 88, who died Wednesday, August 12, 2009 at his residence.

He will be laid to rest at St. Paul Cemetery with Reverend Gilbert Dutel officiating the services. Pallbearers will be Michael Hebert, Marty Hebert, Jason Meaux, Ryan Richard, Derek Myers and Trent Mounger. Honorary pallbearers will be Shawn Girard, Shane Girard and Shannon Girard.

He was a loving husband, father and grandfather.

Cliff was a veteran of the United States Army who served our country during World War II. He was a member of the American Legion Post #29. He was a parishioner of St. Theresa of the Child Jesus Church where he served as a lector and Eucharistic minister.

He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Rena S. Hebert; three children, Clifford N. Hebert, Jr. and wife Deborah, Dennis J. Hebert and wife Carmen and Mary H. Moore and husband Alvin; eight grandchildren; three step grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; eight step great granchildren; and three brothers, Leroy Hebert, Wilfred Hebert and Wilson Hebert all of Welsh.

He was preceded in death by parents, Algole Hebert and the former Eula Hains; son, Larry Michael Hebert; infant daughter, Theresa Hebert; and siblings, Sr. Mary Henrietta, Nelson Hebert, Dorothy H. Ardoin and Rodney Hebert.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Abbeville, 209 S. St. Charles Street, on Thursday, August 13, 2009 from 4:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. with a rosary to be prayed at 7:00 p.m.; Friday, August 14, 2009 from 8:00 a.m. until 1:15 p.m. when the procession will depart for the church.

The family would thank his care takers, Geraldine Boudreaux, Mary Lou Diggs, especially Joe and Yvette, Linda, Vanessa, Hospice of Acadiana and any care taker who was with him during his final days. Also they would like to thank Deacon Jim Davis and Nancy Schexnaider for their support and prayers.
