Kaplan—A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, January 31, 2017 at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church honoring the life of William "Bill" Cheek, 60 years, who died Saturday, January 28, 2017 at Abrom Kaplan Memorial Hospital. He will be laid to rest at Kaplan Cemetery with Reverend Paul Bienvenu officiating the services. Serving as pallbearers will be Edwin Duhon, Marcus Cheek, Wendel Cheek, Neil Broussard, Gabe Lege, and Hunter Lege. Honorary pallbearers will be Timothy Cheek and Chris Duhon.

He is survived by his wife, Darlene Lege Cheek of Kaplan; one daughter, Tasha Cheek of Kaplan; two grandchildren, Kaeli and Kiele Hargrave of Kaplan; three sisters, Pat Duhon of Kaplan, Loretta Broussard of Kaplan, and Paula and her husband, Richard Baltera of Houston, TX; and one brother, Peter Cheek and his wife, Nellie of Kaplan.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Edwin Cheek and the former Paula Broussard; and three brothers-in-law, Lloyd "TeNue" Duhon, Terry Hebert, and Jessie Martin.

He will be missed by all who knew him, especially by his dog "Max".

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Kaplan, 300 N. Eleazar Ave., on Monday, January 30, 2017 from 12:00 PM until 10:00 PM with a rosary being prayed at 7:00 PM; Tuesday, January 31, 2017 from 8:00 AM until the procession departs for the church.
