Kaplan—A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, February 15, 2017 at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church honoring the life of Casey Suire, 40 years old, who passed away on Saturday, February 4, 2017. He will be laid to rest at Kaplan Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Corey Suire, Cody Suire, Brad Harris, David Schendel, Blair Christ, and Kit Trahan. Honorary pallbearers will be Seth Suire and Ty Hebert.
Casey Suire was born on January 29, 1977 in Kaplan, Louisiana. He is a 1995 graduate of Kaplan High School. He graduated from Louisiana State University in 2001 with a degree in Microbiology. He was immediately offered a job with Schlumberger in the oil field where he worked for two years and then went to work for Halliburton for the past ten years. He left to work in Africa for four years and then went to Indonesia. While working there he found his love for Mixed Martial Arts at 33 years old. Most are retiring from fighting, but Casey had just begun. He fulfilled his dreams. He was so full of life, talented, successful, a fun loving person, and always there for anyone that needed help or guidance. Casey had a smile and laughter that were contagious and when he walked into a room you were just drawn to him. He was a practical jokester, a big LSU fan, loved playing cards with family, playing the guitar and ukulele, often sang for his family, and loved riding his motorcycle.
Casey was one of the unfortunate ones that suffered from the August flood. He returned home to start the process of remodeling and worked as many as 16 hours a day. After five months he decided to return to Bali to take a break from the remodel and continued his training with his Mixed Martial Arts team. He arrived in Bali on January 29, his 40th birthday, and while only being there eight days he was in a fatal motorcycle accident.
Sadly, he leaves behind his parents, Charles and Danielle Suire; two brothers, Cody Suire and Corey Suire and his wife, Shannon; two sisters, Devon and her husband, Rustin Menard and Charlsie and her husband, James Hebert; one goddaughter, Charly Beth Menard; two nieces, Alysse and Hillarie Hebert; and three nephews, San Paul Menard, Ty Hebert, and Seth Suire.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Bernadette S. and Willis Mire; his paternal grandparents, Maudry B. and William Suire; and his sister, Dorie B. Suire.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Kaplan, 300 N. Eleazar Ave., on Tuesday, February 14, 2017 from 11:00 AM until the procession departs for the church on Wednesday, February 15, 2017 with a rosary being prayed at 7:00 PM on Tuesday evening.
