Velta Broussard Meyers

August 24, 1924 — August 19, 2009

Abbeville—Funeral services will be held Friday, August 21, 2009 at a 10:30 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Therese of the Child Jesus Church honoring the life of Velta Broussard Meyers, 84, who died Wednesday, August 19, 2009 at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital.

She will be laid to rest at St. Paul Cemetery with Reverend Kenneth Mayne officiating the services. Pallbearers will be Kevin Meyers, Ken Meyers, Chris Dupuis, Gerald Broussard, Cory Mouton and David LeBlanc.

She is survived by her son, Lynwood Meyers and wife June of Abbeville; grandsons, Kevin Meyers and wife Monica of Maurice and Ken Meyers and wife Amy of Youngsville; granddaughter, Karrie Dupuis and husband Chris of Lafayette; great grandchildren, Taylor Meyers, Claire Meyers, Katherine Meyers, Caroline Meyers, Kate Meyers and Cameron Meyers.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William Meyers; parents, Ovey Broussard and the former Olive LeBlanc; five brothers; and three sisters.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Abbeville, 209 S. St. Charles Street, on Thursday, August 20, 2009 from 11:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a rosary to be prayed at 7:00 p.m.; Friday, August 21, 2009 from 8:00 a.m. until time of service.
